 Our Community Sustainability Mission:

The mission of the Tri-Cities sustainability effort is to promote the healthy well-being of its citizens in a sustainable environment that brings economic benefits to the citizens and governmental entities, now and in the future.”

Approval of Minutes

Motion made to approve July 21 minutes by R.Manasek, second by L.Danielzuk, motion passed.

New Business

Ø      Danielzuk noticed the first “Sustainably Speaking” article in Gering Citizen!  This is in part an educational aspect to promote sustainability understanding by the TCSP development team.  Editor Jim Headley of the Gering Citizen is involved with the Gering High School Journalism department.  We are hopeful students at high school and elementary level will be able to incorporate reading, writing, and other attributes of education into developing articles of sustainability.  These articles should be from a variety of sources in an ongoing effort to publicize sustainable efforts by the city and others.  Anyone from the TCSP or the public in general, is encouraged to submit an article to the paper as part of monthly “Sustainably Speaking” section.

Ø      Topics for tonight’s meeting include

ü      Water (Quality and Efficiency)  strategies and timelines.

Ø      Topic discussions will be placed in Inventory Towards Sustainability (ITS) documentation at end of TCSP development.  All information based upon draft documents, compilation reviewed at end of ITS gathering, posted on web for in depth review.

Closing Remarks / Next Team Meeting
