Our Community Sustainability Mission:
“The mission of the Tri-Cities sustainability effort is to promote the healthy well-being of its citizens in a sustainable environment that brings economic benefits to the citizens and governmental entities, now and in the future.”
Approval of Minutes
Motion made to approve Sept 29 minutes by L.Cooper, second by C.Conway, motion passed.
Old Business
Ø Topic discussions will be placed in Inventory Towards Sustainability (ITS) documentation at end of TCSP development. All information based upon draft documents, compilation reviewed at end of ITS gathering, posted on web for in depth review.
New Business
Ø Topic for tonight’s meeting is a team review of Tri-City Sustainability Plan (TCSP) by each section, goals and Strategies (Indicators subject for city adaptation).
Ø After TCSP review and clarifications suggested, a mini-celebration of sorts occurred with hot cider and spiced cake brought by L.Herbel. The celebration was to commemorate the effort and hard work that participating members put into TCSP development.
Ø The intent upon completion of the TCSP was to give it to Gering, Scottsbluff and Terrytown cities for adoption. Discussion occurred about how several businesses and all city departments were invited to contribute to the development of the TCSP. Many city departments and businesses did indeed contribute to discussions of this plan that was meant to enhance our communities. Danielzuk recommended that because our city departments had contributed to this sustainable plan development, the city departments also are given a final review before our TCSP team gave presentations to Gering, Scottsbluff and Terrytown councils.
Ø Modifications suggested from tonight’s meeting would be made and provided on flash drive for final review by all Tri-City’s department supervisory personnel via Danielzuk, Kuckkahn and Morrison. With the holidays around this time of year, Danielzuk thought 6 to 8 weeks would be sufficient for city review.
Ø Danielzuk will notify TCSP team chair of city department review completion, which will determine our final TCSP team meeting. Our final meeting will be to include city review of the TCS Plan and to schedule the Tri-City council presentations.
