Process for Topic Developments (listed alphabetical, not priority):

v     Ideal topic Category, the best possible we could have, no obstacles (funds, time, etc)

v     What we have toward ideal (fill in column)

v     Comparing (ideal to reality)

v     What we need toward ideal (fill in column)

v     What could be in place with little effort / cost (short range, 1-3 year goals)

v     Longer range plans (3-5 year goals)

v     Beyond current reach (strive to accomplish)

 

Compilations will follow in finalized form for Community adaptation (City Councils, etc)

 

PROPOSAL by councils in support of Tri-City Sustainability Plan

All governmental (City) Application forms (all cities, any application form) to include question: “How does this ______________________________ promote sustainability for our community?”  Question must be answered.  If this question is unanswered, application is denied.  Community sustainability education must be ongoing and available for application process.

Application Examples:

        “Hot water heater replacement” - (water heater is an Energy Star performance unit, reducing energy requirements for this owner and our community)

        “Patio construction” - (materials are Forest Stewardship Council certified, promoting managed wood consumption),  or  (decking materials are all recycled),  or  (all materials are made from recycled plastic and renewable resources)

        “Home construction” - (plans are registered with USGBC using Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, certification building award pending construction completion.  This home will be among the most energy efficient and healthy environment with reduced natural resource demands built today.)
